Xtreme Green Products will be shipping the Sentinel Police Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) to the Dallas Police Department’s Central Patrol Division in August for improving patrol within the Dallas Central Business District.
Xtreme Green Products, Inc. (XGP), an eco-vehicle company specializing in the development of electric land vehicles and personal watercraft, has announced today that the Dallas Police Department will receive Sentinel Police Mobility Vehicles for patrolling the Dallas Central Business District. The shipment date for the Sentinel PMVs is set for August 2009.
“The Dallas Police Department represents one of the most respected and prestigious police departments in the country,” commented Sanford Leavitt, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Xtreme Green Products. “We are honored to be working with them to supply Sentinel PMVs for enhancing the patrol of Dallas’ Central Business District,” he added.
The Xtreme Green Sentinel is an electric police mobility vehicle (PMV) designed to replace the bicycle and foot patrol with a reliable, state-of-the-art, and efficient urban neighborhood and downtown patrol. The Sentinel can travel at speeds up to 29 miles per hour and offers a range of 80 miles per charge at a cost of about 1 cent per mile.
“We believe that introducing the Sentinel PMV as an urban patrol vehicle can make a positive impact on a community by raising the level of interaction and communication between police officers and community members”, explained Neil Roth, President and Chief Operating Officer of Xtreme Green Products. “In addition to making a positive impact within communities, the Sentinel can also help in reducing costs for police departments by allowing them to replace traditional fuel-powered patrol vehicles with a greener and significantly less costly alternative,” he concluded.
Xtreme Green Products, Inc., is an eco-vehicle company developing and manufacturing revolutionary, electric-powered land vehicles. The Company currently offers several consumer vehicles for sale, including the X Rider, an electric motorcycle capable of speeds approaching 65 miles per hour, and an electric motor scooter, which can travel as far as 75 miles on a single charge.
In addition to its consumer vehicles, the Company also manufactures the Sentinel Police Mobility Vehicle, an electric vehicle for use by security and law enforcement officers. The Sentinel is designed specifically to replace bicycle and foot patrol with a reliable, state-of-the-art, and efficient urban neighborhood and downtown patrol vehicle. The vehicle’s three wheel design and size allow officers to patrol on sidewalks safely as well as go through open doorways and climb 6” curbs when in pursuit or rushing to a crime scene. The Company has recently introduced for both security and consumers all electric ATVs and UTVs.
All Xtreme Green Products vehicles are designed with proprietary energy management systems and electric propulsion systems, providing each vehicle with the power and ability of gas powered engines, but without the particulate pollution or noise pollution.
